Kelly Berg

United States, 1986

BIOGRAPHY

Kelly Berg (b. 1986, Concord, Massachusetts) is a Los Angeles–based painter and mixed-media artist whose work investigates the dynamic and ever-shifting forces of the natural world. Raised in Minneapolis and educated at the Rhode Island School of Design, Berg’s practice bridges contemporary landscape painting with geological inquiry, distilling phenomena such as plate tectonics, volcanic eruptions, and rock formations into vivid compositions that evoke both the primordial and the sublime.

Her paintings and sculptural elements engage with the cycle of destruction and creation inherent in the Earth’s processes, using impasto acrylic, metallic pigments, and reflective materials to evoke elemental energy and movement. Through this visual language, Berg explores humanity’s emotional response to nature’s power, prompting reverence and reflection in the face of forces that are both beautiful and formidable. Her work has been exhibited widely across museums and galleries in the United States and internationally, and is included in numerous public and private collections.
